We are looking for an ambitious and high-performing Business Development Manager to help take our world class Design and Innovation consulting company to the next level. Balance is an award-winning firm with an impressive client list, portfolio and a proven process that resonates with clients looking to grow.

The goal is to drive sustainable and predictable financial growth through boosting sales and forging strong and lasting relationships with clients.

You will work directly with the president to design and refine the sales strategy. You will focus on actively identifying opportunities, pitching, and winning new business.

The successful candidate will help us meet our aggressive customer acquisition and revenue growth targets, and get to have fun doing it.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement a strategic sales plan that expands the company’s customer base and ensures its competitive advantage in the marketplace

  • Develop a growth strategy focused both on financial gain and customer satisfaction

  • Continuously iterate on sales process

  • Build and promote strong, long-lasting new customer relationships by partnering with them, finding their pain points, and understanding their needs

  • Grow and deepen valuable existing customer relationships and advocate for their specific needs ensuring exceptional client experiences

  • Create and present sales, revenue and expenses reports and accurate forecasts to management

  • Conduct research to identify new markets and customer opportunities

  • Analyze performance data

  • Provide candid feedback and after-sales support

  • Develop creative new ways to communicate the Balance story and value to prospective clients

  • Maintain a detailed and organized sales process that includes the use of CRM and project management software

  • Continuously learn about dynamic Balance process from team members and be able to share on multiple content platforms

Our Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration or related field

  • 5-8 years’ sales experience in related professional services or applicable field

  • Track record of superior performance metrics

  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close

  • Excellent negotiation skills

  • Strong decision-making abilities

  • Ability to identify and respect the unique needs of each client

  • Ability to comprehend complex systems and processes and distil them down into easy-to-understand sales content

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization

  • Committed to continuous education through workshops, seminars and conferences

  • Coachability and openness to constructive criticism

  • Proficiency in MS Office, project management software, and CRM software

  • Excellent writing and presentation skills

  • Time management and planning skills

  • Experience in a design or creative agency is a definite plus
