Industrial Design Contractor

We are seeking an exceptionally talented Industrial Design contractor to join our team on a project to project basis. The ideal candidate can quickly understand the needs of a project, ramp up quickly and work seamlessly with our team to deliver high-caliber work.  Because you are a baller, we will likely ask you for help on more than one project, so time management and the ability to focus is a must.

Applicant Requirements:

  • 3-10 years of work experience in Industrial Design
  • Ability to hit the ground running on a wide variety of types of projects and proven ability to deliver high-caliber work in a short timeframe
  • Well-rounded knowledge of ID tools and processes:
    • Strong visual and verbal communication skills (written, spoken, 2D sketching, 2D layout)
    • Proficient with creating design intent CAD and renderings (Solidworks and Keyshot proficiency are a must)
  • Highly collaborative and easy to work with
  • Ability to take feedback from Balance team and their clients
  • Passion for problem solving and relentless pursuit of perfection
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management
  • Ability to work locally preferred but not required

Bookkeeper / Administrative Assistant

We are looking for a highly skilled Bookkeeper / Administrative Assistant to manage our bookkeeping, provide administrative support to our top executives, and manage our creative office. You won’t have to work in a boring cube and you’ll have the chance to work beside the best designers around!


  • Refine our bookkeeping processes and procedures using QuickBooks
  • Maintain current accounts and reconcile bank statements
  • Create and issue invoices and statements and make collections calls as necessary
  • Manage all payables and receivables
  • Strategize and create financial forecasts with executive team
  • Support our accountant on processing payroll and tax payments
  • Collect time-keeping information and run job and budget reports
  • Handle incoming calls, take messages, and route correspondence
  • Manage executive calendars and provide reminders about appointments
  • Make travel arrangements
  • Monitor office supplies
  • Produce reports, presentations, and briefs weekly/monthly/annually
  • Develop and maintain an efficient documentation and filing system
  • Other administrative support as needed
  • Participate in ideation and creative sessions from time to time!

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • 4-6 years Bookkeeping/Accounting experience
  • Experience as executive and/or administrative assistant
  • QuickBooks experience and proficiency – Absolutely necessary
  • High proficiency in MS Office suite and Google docs/sheets
  • Ability to learn and adjust in dynamic environment
  • Exemplary planning and time management skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload
  • High-level verbal and written communications skills
  • Service-minded, courteous, and humble
