SWISS+TECH® - BodyGard™ 5-in-1 Emergency Tool

As a Spin-off project that evolved from our successful collaboration on the Personal Care Tool, Balance was called back in to develop another Multi-purpose tool with the SWISS+TECH® team.

Many automotive ‘safety and rescue’ devices are fairly bulky and expensive, and perform only one or two specific tasks. SWISS+TECH® wanted to introduce a multi-functional device which was more compact, stylish, and less expensive than similar product offerings in this category.

Balance set to work, with Magnet engineers to research and reverse-engineer some existing competitive products providing a basis for the conceptual phase. After several design options and iterations, a final direction was chosen, and executed in CAD form for prototyping and tooling.

The resulting product incorporates a window-glass breaker, seat-belt cutter, multi-function LED, siren and buoyant, phosphorescent beacon. All of these features are packaged in an attractive, compact casing which can be carried or stored almost anywhere around and in your car.
