Little Tikes - Rugged Riggz™ HUMMER®

Little Tikes already had an established brand name and a solid line of soft-edged preschool vehicles. Cool, licensed vehicles were an entirely new focus for this toy giant. Balance worked closely with Little Tikes Industrial Designers to develop the Rugged Riggz™ HUMMER® line of products.

Balance helped develop the overall look and proportions of this new line of HUMMER® toys. The chopped top, oversized wheels and caricatured features of this new line had to fit the new Rugged Riggz™ harder-edged design language and also be approved by the licensor. The HUMMER® license was also translated into the child-sized ride-on line and the Spark Racerz™ line.

Our collaborative team design approach worked well to meet Little Tikes’ goals of obtaining licensor approval and delivering product to market in a compressed time frame. Balance delivered multiple concept drawings, renderings, and 3D CAD data which translated directly into prototypes. These prototypes served as design intent models, and were the basis for further engineering and eventual production tooling.
