Kinetico — K5™ Drinking Water Station

Kinetico, Inc. approached Balance, requesting that we follow up the successful launch of their 2050c Water Softener with yet another development program, this time for a compact drinking water filtration system.

Using a client-supplied components package, along with specific size and functionality design criteria, Balance worked closely with both the Engineering and Marketing Teams at Kinetico to blend a superior-performing filtration system with the elegant styling of the new 2050c.

Our conceptual process addressed issues including easy access to the replaceable cartridges, as well as maintaining clear sightlines to the PurMometer metering device. The device was also slimmed and shortened, with respect to its prior configuration, and incorporated a structural molded base to save material and cost.

The finished product fits seamlessly into any kitchen and coordinates well with contemporary appliance design trends while maintaining the family aesthetic established by the recently-introduced water softener. This, along with improved functionality, user-serviceability, and unsurpassed water-purification makes the K5™ Drinking Water Station a must-have product for any household.
