Diebold - Vectra
The Vectra Concept Terminal is an award-winning, conceptual ATM machine that is the first in the world to use haptic technology – the technology found in certain luxury automobiles which eliminates the need for multiple buttons and knobs. This new technology provides many benefits to the user which include a single point-of-entry for data, and consequently, a much higher level of security. No more entering your PIN number on a keypad while the ‘shoulder surfers’ watch.
Balance and Diebold design team members worked concurrently on multiple components of the final design. Together, we reduced the timeframe of the entire design process from initial concept through final working prototype to less than 75 days.
Facilitating the development of a functional ATM machine model, in this amount of time is no small task. Balance was the central point of contact for industrial designers, software engineers, interface designers, and model makers. Our daily tasks ranged from on-the-spot design innovations to simple part deliveries which reinforces the collaborative attitude here at Balance.
