Jessica graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Art in 2009 with a BFA in Industrial Design and a minor in Ceramics. She went on to gain corporate design experience developing household organizational products for a leading manufacturer. In July 2010 Jessica joined Balance bringing a much needed female perspective to the design process.

While growing up, Jessica always felt at home in art class, so she began searching for a way to turn this passion into a career. As a student at The Cleveland Institute of Art she was immediately attracted to the applied art of product design.

“I am inspired by the opportunity to apply elements of art and principles of design to a manufactured product that has a physical, social, and emotional affect on an individual’s daily life. I fell in love with the process of designing products - researching the user’s needs and wants, defining problems, exploring multiple solutions, and refining a solid final concept.”

Jessica also developed a passion for the crafts while attending CIA. She’s been known to spend hours and hours behind a potter’s wheel or holding a Knifty Knitter.
